In 1994 Mulcahy held an exhibition entitled, ‘Ch’uksoam’, with the Taylor Galleries in Dublin, it is likely that this work was shown at this exhibition. The Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery, Dublin also played host to a solo exhibition entitled ‘Do-Gong Series’ that year.

Inscription on reverse suggests an execution date of 26 December 1982. In 1982 Mulcahy held his second solo exhibition at the Lincoln Gallery in Dublin.

Eithne Jordan partook in the 1989 Oireachtas exhibition in the RHA Gallery in Dublin and the same year she held a two-person exhibition at the Paton Gallery, London with Sally Heywood. The following year she became a member of Aosdana.

Pat Connor was a good friend of Jim O’Driscoll and was one of the many local Cork artists whose career benefited from the patronage and support of this passionate collector. Best known for his work in ceramics, Connor studied at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin where he later lectured sporadically from 1976 to 1986. He represented Ireland at the World Craft Conference in Kyoto, Japan in 1978 and at the Paris Biennale in 1980. From 1988 to 1992 he lived in New York where he initiated a series of works in clay at the Mugi Studio. Since returning to Ireland the artist has been based in Cork.

Barraclough is primarily known as a printmaker and this work on paper demonstrates elements of his skills in this discipline. In the year prior to his 1986 exhibition at the Taylor Galleries Barraclough travelled to China. His body of work following this trip demonstrates his connection to Chinese culture and in particular its appreciation for paper as an artistic support. This work encapsulates the artist’s visual experience in China through collage, calligraphy and translucent Chinese papers and ink.

William Harrington is a Cork based artist and illustrator who draws on the landscape of his native county for inspiration. The Lavitt Gallery, Cork has hosted several exhibitions of Harrington’s work including, ‘Cork Seen, Exhibition of Drawings 1960-1987’.

Depth: 4in. Dimensions of marble base: 3.5 by 4.25 by 1.25in. Vincent Browne was prize winner at the Dublin Millennium Sculpture Competition in 1988 and has been exhibiting in Ireland since the early 1980s. His comically charged sculpture is best represented in the public realm with works such as, Mr. Screen (the bronze usher located outside The Screen Cinema, Dublin) and the bronze Palm Tree Seat in Temple Bar.
