In the year prior to his 1986 exhibition at the Taylor Galleries Barraclough travelled to China. His body of work following this trip demonstrates his connection to Chinese culture and in particular its appreciation for paper as an artistic support. This work encapsulates the artist’s visual experience in China through collage, calligraphy and translucent Chinese papers and ink. |
